How did we get here?
Ebo left pro-boxing in 2007 and, for the next 10 years, he would speak at hundreds of churches, colleges, high schools, and other events as an evangelist and Bible teacher. During this time, he would also serve in various pastoral roles in churches in Georgia, California, and Tennessee.
In 2017, Ebo and his late wife Amy decided to take some time off from occupational ministry to focus on their family and strengthen their marriage for what lie ahead. Over the next two years, God began re-establishing a vision given to Ebo in 2008… to lead a Bible-teaching church that loves God, loves others, and lives on mission.
In early 2019, the Elder family was living near Knoxville, TN and were happily settled for the first time in their lives. Ebo then received a phone call from his friend, Easton, who he had not seen since 2009. Easton said that he had been having dreams for the last 2 years, where Ebo was preaching and teaching in Hogansville, GA.
Ironically, Ebo was speaking a few minutes from Hogansville the very next weekend. They decided to make the trip, and, within 30 hours of being in Hogansville, Ebo and Amy decided this is where the Lord was calling them next.
God worked out all of the details, including placing it on Amy’s parents’ hearts to move to Hogansville a few weeks before Ebo and Amy even mentioned leaving Tennessee.
This was the only confirmation they needed. Within a few short weeks, their Tennessee home was sold and they were on their way to Georgia.
After two busy years in Hogansville, with dozens of gatherings and Bible studies in their home and God’s work in the community, the Elder family made the decision to launch a public Sunday morning gathering. On June 6th, 2021, House Church had its first gathering at 404 E. Main St. in downtown Hogansville.
